Dr. Michael Dempewolf is a fellowship-trained and sub-specialty board-certified sports medicine orthopedic surgeon at Sano Orthopedics. He specializes in shoulder, elbow, and knee conditions, focusing on competitive athletes.

Dr. Dempewolf was raised in St. Louis, MO, and he attended the University of Missouri as an undergraduate. He earned a dual degree DO/MBA program from the Kansas City University of Medicine in conjunction with Rockhurst University. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at a busy Southern California trauma center. He was elected chief resident in his last year, reflecting his work ethic and leadership abilities.

He then received advanced training by completing a Sports Medicine Fellowship at the Hoag Orthopedic Institute in Southern California. During this year, he assisted in caring for athletes at multiple levels, including the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, the University of California-Irvine, and multiple local high schools.

He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine. He continues to pursue his passion for treating athletes as the Team Physician for Rockhurst University, the Kansas City Monarchs, Johnson County Community College, the Kansas City Blues Rugby organizations, and Sunflower State Football Club.

Meghan attended the University of Kansas for her undergraduate education in nursing and received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing at Baker University School of Nursing in 2005. After graduation, she worked as a registered nurse at Stormont-Vail in Topeka, KS in the Birthplace. She later received her Masters of Science in Nursing at the University of Kansas Medical Center in 2009 as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
