About the Fellowship
Sano Orthopedics, in coordination with the Kansas City University, is thrilled to introduce our ACGME-accredited Orthopedic Sano-SANTI Sports Medicine Fellowship.
This program trains orthopedic surgeons to lead in sports medicine through clinical experience, advanced surgical training, academic partnerships, and research opportunities.
Our fellowship produces skilled, compassionate specialists who provide exemplary care to active individuals of all ages. We foster a culture of quality, innovation, and collaboration, challenging traditional musculoskeletal healthcare delivery.
International Collaboration
This one-year fellowship program trains practitioners to lead in sports medicine and offers international collaboration opportunities. The fellowship includes:
- 10 months in the US, rotating among sports medicine providers at Sano Orthopedics
- 2 months overseas in France and Italy with providers from the SANTI group
Dr. Matthew Daggett, the program director, is dedicated to advancing orthopedic sports medicine, particularly non-invasive surgery.
Hands-on Learning Opportunities
This fellowship provides up and coming orthopedic sports medicine surgeons with hands-on experience using the nanoscope for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. It also offers training in advanced surgical techniques with traditional arthroscopy and open procedures. Key opportunities include:
- Hands-on learning in both clinical and operative settings
- Weekly sports medicine CME conferences open to fellows and other professionals (PAs, PTs, ATCs) for interprofessional collaboration
- Presentations by SANTI professionals from around the world, presenting sports medicine topics that are within their individual expertise
Eligibility
Requirements for the fellowship:
- Eligible for Kansas and Missouri state licensure.
- Completion of Orthopedic Residency Program.
- Must obtain and/or be eligible for J-1 Visa (international students only)
