Dr. John (Jack) Swab is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon at Sano Orthopedics. He specializes in shoulder and elbow care, including complex upper extremity treatments.

His academic journey commenced with an undergraduate degree in organismal biology at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS. While playing KU’s football team, his initial degree path was to veterinary school, Dr. Swab redirected his focus towards medical school. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Oklahoma State University, followed by a residency in Orthopedic Surgery at St. Luke’s Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Pursuing his interest in upper extremity, he completed a Fellowship in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery at California Pacific Orthopedics in San Francisco, California.

Dr. Swab’s specialized training equips him to perform anatomic total shoulder arthroplasty, reverse total shoulder arthroplasty, total elbow arthroplasty, and various open and arthroscopic shoulder interventions.
