Dr. Alexander Palmer is a fellowship-trained orthopedic hand surgeon practicing at Sano Orthopedics. Dr. Palmer specializes in hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder care.

Dr. Alexander Palmer grew up in Springfield, MO. He attended Drury University for his undergraduate education and Kansas City University for medical school. After completing his residency in orthopedics at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation South Pointe Hospital, Dr. Palmer completed an additional year of fellowship training in hand. Dr. Palmer developed an interest in the hand and upper extremities because this challenging specialty requires comprehensive knowledge of your joints, ligaments, nerves, and soft tissue working together. His fellowship-specific training in hand and upper extremity surgery included various reconstructive procedures, arthroscopic surgeries, and extensive trauma training. Additionally, Dr. Palmer has developed a particular interest in advancing in-office procedures. These in-office hand procedures provide an easier, more efficient, and cost-effective patient procedure experience.

The challenge and gratification of returning people to function are why Dr. Palmer loves orthopedics. Dr. Palmer’s patients appreciate his integrity, down-to-earth demeanor, and sincere care in returning them to full function. Dr. Palmer is busy at home with his wife and 4 daughters when not at work.
