Dr. Matt Cullen is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon at Sano Orthopedics, specializing in sports medicine, and knee and shoulder care.
A Kansas City native, Dr. Cullen obtained his undergraduate degree from Northwest Missouri State University. He attended medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences and completed his orthopedic surgery residency through Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences and St. Mary’s Medical Center. Dr. Cullen pursued a sports medicine fellowship at the MedStar Orthopaedic Institute in Baltimore, MD, and Washington D.C. During his fellowship, he worked with high school, collegiate, and professional athletes. He served alongside the medical staff of the NFL Baltimore Ravens and NBA Washington Wizards, learning how elite athletes maximize their return to sport.
Dr. Matt Cullen is an active member of several orthopedic societies, including the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. He also completed a medical mission trip to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where they provided surgical care to Ethiopian athletes. He’s also involved in medical research that has been published in peer-reviewed journals.
In addition to sports medicine, Dr. Cullen’s areas of focus include knee and shoulder injuries, and joint replacement.
Dr. Matt Cullen is known for his attentive, caring approach to treating his patients. He believes in using an evidence-based approach to formulating treatment plans for his patients.

Chloe Davis, APRN, FNP-BC
Chloe Davis, APRN, FNP-BC
Chloe received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing at University of Kansas School of Nursing. After graduation, she worked as a registered nurse at KU and St. Luke’s- working in pre/post surgery. She received her Masters of Science in Nursing at University of Central Missouri in 2023 as a Family Nurse Practitioner. What she enjoys most about orthopedic surgery is the ability to help patients throughout their journey to making a full recovery, and getting back to doing things they enjoy.
