Sano Specialty Care: 2025 Year in Review
2025 was a year of meaningful progress for Sano—one marked by deeper alignment and a renewed commitment to doing what’s right for patients in an increasingly complex healthcare environment. At a time when rising costs, fragmented care, and growing consumer distrust continue to challenge our system, we remained focused on a simple belief: outpatient healthcare can be better.
Throughout the year, we provided access to high-quality orthopedics, sports medicine, spine and pain management, general surgery, and wellness services across the Kansas City metro. Guided by the EOS framework, our teams became more aligned around shared priorities, clearer accountability, and disciplined execution. EOS helped us sharpen our focus on what matters most—building a provider-driven organization that delivers coordinated, patient-centered care at every touchpoint.
We made intentional progress across the injury–intervention–prevention–wellness spectrum by strengthening collaboration between Sano Specialty Care, Beacon ASC, and Intero Wellness. This allowed us to create more connected care pathways and deliver an experience that feels personal, transparent, and accessible—whether a patient is seeking urgent orthopedic care, advanced surgical intervention, or long-term health and performance support.
2025 also brought important growth within our team. We welcomed Dr. Fremarek to expand our specialties to include primary care sports medicine and celebrated the continued development of Dr. Garrett Gilbert as he transitioned from sports medicine fellow to his next phase of practice within our organization. These milestones reflect our commitment to education, mentorship, and investing in providers who share our values.
Beyond clinical care, we took time to strengthen our culture—hosting an open house at our Overland Park office, celebrating team milestones, and coming together through events like Sanolympics. Each moment reinforced that our work is about people: the patients we serve and the teams who care for them.
Most importantly, 2025 reinforced what makes Sano different. We are a group of people passionate about the work, committed to pursuing better, and united by the belief that coordinated, compassionate care builds healthier communities. We are grateful to every patient who trusted us with their health and every team member who showed up each day ready to make a difference.
Looking Ahead to 2026

As we move into 2026, we are doubling down on what matters most: transforming outpatient healthcare for patients, providers, and communities. We will continue to sharpen integration across Sano Specialty Care, Sano Health & Care, Beacon ASC, and Intero Wellness, ensuring every step of the patient journey is seamless, supported, and designed around long-term well-being. We will be improving our internal collaborations across teams and departments as we are “One-Sano.”
While the challenges facing healthcare are real, our commitment is unwavering. We will continue to challenge the status quo, prioritizing health over volume, and developing a sustainable model of care founded on trust, transparency, and outcomes.
2026 will be a year of purpose —with patients at the center of every decision and a clear focus on creating healthier communities together.
