Dr. Christopher Eckland is a fellowship-trained and board-certified orthopedic surgeon at Sano Specialty Care. He specializes in knee, shoulder, sports medicine, and fracture care.

Dr. Eckland is a native of Kansas City and graduated high school at Shawnee Mission Northwest. He then attended Kansas State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology. He then earned his D.O. from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. He then completed his residency in orthopedic surgery through Michigan State University at Botsford Hospital outside of Detroit, Michigan. While in residency, he was selected as the chief resident in his last year. He then received specialized, advanced training in Sports Medicine at Orthopedic Research of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. During this year, he specialized in caring for athletes at all levels, including the Washington Redskins, multiple local high schools, and the Special Olympics.

Dr. Eckland maintains a wide skill set in his expertise in orthopedics. He focuses on open and arthroscopic treatment of the shoulder and knee. He provides surgical and nonsurgical care for fractures. Dr. Eckland performs numerous knee and shoulder replacements, including unicompartmental knee replacements. His patients describe him as caring, friendly, professional, and honest.

Aside from his orthopedic practice, Dr. Eckland is a devoted husband and father of 2 children. He enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and spending time at the lake.
